Raised in Hartford, West Virginia a small town of about 500 located 20 miles west of Ravenswood, WV between New Haven and Mason, WV in Mason County.

Design and engineering on punches and dies.

05 October 1998 – 01 May 1999 National Center for MicroGravity Research at NASA Glenn Research Center, Cleveland, Ohio
Worked in research laboratory studying fluid mechanics using laser interferometry obtaining some of the first density measurements of multiple fluids in two dimensional flow using laser interferometry.

August 1999 – March 2002 DaimlerChryser & General Motors, Rochester Hills, MI
Validation engineer for engine cooling, powertrain cooling, and interior heating ventilation and cooling for various automotive programs including PT Cruiser, Viper, and other DC small car platform programs, Chevrolet Trailblazer, Hummer H3 and other GM midsize truck programs.

March 2002 – Present Kimes Steel, Inc. New Haven, WV
Engineering work including design and production of railroad components and track assemblies. Design and develop equipment and fixtures to manufacture rail components used in railroads, mass transit systems, amusement parks and coal mines.

Political Activities / Adventures:
May 2004 – Republican candidate for 10th District House in WV
As a candidate in the WV Republican Primary personally visited over 3,000 households and received over 1,500 votes sufficient to place 4th of 5 in a 3 seat district.

May 2006 – Republican candidate for the 10th District House in WV
As a candidate in the WV Republican Primary once again personally visited over 3,000 households and received over 1,400 votes, only 312 short of placing 3rd in a 3 seat District. No other candidate has come as close to placing third in the past 4 elections. Kimes placed third or better in 9 of 53 precincts with 2 precincts tied for third and another 15 precincts short by 5 votes or less. Further building on 2004’s election, Kimes received the endorsement of the WV Business & Industry Council.

Memberships / Community Involvement / Personal:
Member of the Mid-Ohio Valley Chamber of Commerce. Attends the First Church of the Nazarene in Parkersburg, WV where he occasionally plays the piano. In spare time enjoys working on house he is building, taking care of his dog and jogging. Kimes also enjoys reading American history, business, investment and industrial history books.
